Skinny athletic gf gets chubby

I’ve been dating my gf for over 2 years. When we first started dating she was super fit. Since then she has really chubbed up and even people around her have noticed. Her appetite has really increased and often times she asks me to take her out to dinner even after she already ate with her family. She does not skip any meals and has snacks on top of that. She complains if she dosnt eat after a short couple hours. Her mom is a ex D1 athlete and goes to the gym everyday. She often comments abt how she is lazy and should start going to the gym herself. Her dad has made numerous comments about how her stomach sticks out and even my friends have told me how she now has a gut. She had to buy a whole new wardrobe of bigger sized clothes. She went up 2 or 3 sizes. Towards the end of the summer while wearing a crop top and shorts She told me when visiting her grandmothers after not seeing her for a year she jiggled her thighs and told her “your getting big” and after eating dinner with you she slapped  her full bloated stomach and said “someone’s been eating good”. Her mother also sometimes comments about how her stomach is pushing out over her pants and tells her “I guess you ate a lot today”. Even tho I love her gain she is super self conscious about it and wants to lose it. Is there any way I can convince her not to or keep her on the gaining track?

Have you told her you like her gain? Seems like an obvious step but a lot of people miss it. Physical affection (especially to places where she’s gained) helps a lot too.

it seems to me that the battle is being won. now is the time to play the role of the somewhat supportive boyfriend, ,let her made a couple of efforts to get in shape and then welcome her failures and celebrate it with a nice dinner. play the long game and habits will help you a lot. i am not sure how weight gain happens, if in spurts or over time, but in anyway is very welcome. it may be over spurts but you need to be prepared for habits to avoid any serious and permanent weight loss. but it seems to be that you are in a very nice path! congrats and keep us updated
