daddymattp
I was wondering if any of you have ever done hair color morphs. Is that a thing? Could you make her blonde?
jacknife
This was beyond my abilities. I gave up and just cut and pasted some blond hair on her.

Guest An Optimist
It's impossible, I think. Blond hair is, I believe, partly translucent or something. So you can't really use color filters to get that result. Color +light is really hard to get right. The new Fallout game, hair color is.. odd. Especially gray and some blond. It just doesn't look right.

Oldar
Recoloring is super simple and I hope this drunk tutorial helps you in your future recoloring endeavors. The end result of this is bad, because I don't feel like painstakingly selecting the area which needs recoloring. Please note that if you want your recoloring to look good, selection is the most important step--especially with hair. Step 1: As you can see here: http://i.imgur.com/KMX7ZIA.jpg I've done a horrible job at selecting the hair. Use whatever selection tool you want, it doesn't matter. Using pen tool will give you the most control, but unless you want to spend an hour selecting hair, don't bother. Still, if you want it to look nice, you're going to be doing this step for a long time. I stroked the selection just to show you where I selected, it wouldn't normally look like that. Step 2: Copy the selected hair and paste it into a new layer. Desaturate that layer (image->adjustments->desaturate). Then, mess with the levels (image->adjustments->levels). Since we are going from dark hair to light hair, we want to bring the levels up, to brighten the hair. http://i.imgur.com/o6Ij8x3.jpg Step 3: Get your color. You can just pick some straw color from the huge selection of colors, or you can paste in a photo of someone with blonde hair and sample their hair color. For this, I used a picture of Taylor Swift. In a new layer, reselect (select->reselect) and paint in the lines your new color. http://i.imgur.com/rvGYgBS.jpg That looks stupid, so you need to change the layer type to color like this: http://i.imgur.com/hE1w5sI.png That will give you something like this: http://i.imgur.com/V9niADw.jpg Normally from here you would adjust until you had the desired effect. I brought the opacity of the color layer down to 78% to get a more realistic blonde color. You might need to change the levels some more, or mess around with the opacity. You might also use this time to go back in and erase the any part of the color or desaturated layers that cover a piece of sky in the background or shirt or whatever, as that will now be blonde as well unless you do. This will insure that your new color is blended as smoothly as possible, unlike with what I've done here, as I can't be assed to waste an hour and a half of my life providing free wank material to people or whatever it is you plan to do with these pictures. Anyway, happy recoloring! There are plenty of ways to recolor an image in photoshop, and of all those ways, this is certainly one of them.
