In fact, the guy who first proposed it became one of the biggest proponents of correcting his past assertions. https://okk9s.co.nz/alpha-dog-fallacy/ TLDR: The alpha/beta idea was floated after watching random wolves in a zoo in the 1940’s, but it turns out that in the wild adult wolves don’t have an alpha hierarchy at all.
