I got fat shamed for the first time today. I stopped at target to get beach towels, and was wearing the outfit I posted today. While I was walking around I ended up near this couple. With me in earshot I heard the wife say to her husband, “she should not be wearing that.” By that time, my shorts were giving me camel toe and were bunched up between my thighs. This also means my cellulite and stretch marks are on full display. Her husband said something like, “don’t say that,” and she snapped back, “I’m right.” People were side eyeing me while I was standing in check out. This is my first time ever wearing shorts shorts in public; I never wore them when I was thin.
