Thanks for the work you've put in on the story! It is a weird "Twilight Zone" feeling when reading it. Like this Amber lives in a very similar alternate universe.
It is so fun to see different perspectives, and different choices.
I can't remember, but just now I was thinking about an idea I had... whether I wrote it or just thought about it. But I imagined the young woman feeding Amber had run out of food. She figures 'Oh well, I guess that is that' Then just as she goes to stand up another girl speaks out in the darkness. "Here try these." Betty about comes out of her skin and quickly realizes there had been an audience of one watcher her for who knew how long.
Hadn't thought about that image for years.
