Anyone else used to be a full time gym rat?

I see a lot of former models here (hi, gorgeous!) but I wonder if any one else used to just be majorly into the gym just for fun? I used to go 6 days a week, two hours a session... sometimes twice in one day if I was particularly stressed. I sometimes do miss the routine of it all. And all the friends I met there were great! And walking home from a heavy lifting day was a very satisfying feeling. I don't think I could do it at over 100lbs heavier now πŸ˜…πŸ©·Β

I used to go to the gym all the time, smashing out weights and cardio. I still go to maintain my fitness but it's mostly weights these days, which makes carrying around all the extra fat I've gained, a lot easier.Β

I do miss lifting weights; seeing the weights I was lifting go up from 5lbs to 10lbs to 25lbs, etc... was very satisfying haha. Being strong was always a big goal for me when I went.Β

  • 2 weeks later...

I did 2 hours of exercising at Greenzone then Jetts fitness - 30mins jogging warmup, then 1hr Darebee (Body strengthening), then 30mins rowing.Β
Then Muay Thai for about 6 months, and after various exercises at home with Boxing, Darebee, I've gotten into doing Rowing for upto 45mins average 6 days a week. Done this for a number of years

Girl, YES.

I was engaged to a personal trainer years ago and we literally lived at the gym.Β
I am now slowly getting back into lifting because I want to be big and strong.Β
Being this much heavier and trying to have a consistent lifting routine is not easy though. My body recovery takes foreverrrrrr. I guess that’s the consequences of my very gluttonous actions. Lol

Being strong is awesome. Getting fat and losing strength never felt great to me. Being fat and strong, on the other hand, feels amazing.

πŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ people are always shocked to learn I used to run/jog 5 miles multiple times a week, now I get winded going up a flight of stairs πŸ˜†Β I definitely don’t miss my mindset back then cause it was very unhealthy but I do want to start lifting and get out for walks/hikes to enjoy nature. Something about the idea of being THIICCKK but strong πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅

I hear you on the unhealthy mindset back then, I was super obsessed with every single thing I ate and would beat myself up if I made even a tiny little slip up and while my body was looking good I was kiiiinda miserable.Β
