I actually wouldn't demean this as "lesson learning", like some cheesey moral on a kids' afternoon TV show. I think porn is a great place to bring up important issues like consent and gender roles because porn has the ability to get through a lot of the conscious barriers that lets us ignore the same issues in other art. Porn catches us with our pants down, so to speak. And now, if I may chime in on the issue of the day. While it's true that Chris's boundaries and consent should be respected in any sexual act, he's still clearly at fault here. Not because fat girls = win (although it's certainly true), but because he's denying Sarah any sexual agency in their relationship. Sarah has tried out his fetish and found that she really likes it. I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect him to go out of his comfort zone to try something that she'd be into, too. Kastemel, you've created a really awesome conflict as well as a ridiculously hot weight gain sequence, and I can't wait to see what comes next. He's a toe-dipper; an encourager. He likes results, but not the process involved in attaining those results. What's more, he was the original energy behind Sarah's entire entry into the fetish. His abdication of involvement - of any amount of responsibility - borders on the demented. He wants to 'look but not touch,' but his inaction is actually an affirmation that the relationship is in fact all about him. The people who are going to treat women like objects IRL are going to do so regardless of what you say to them, particularly in a comic. Similarly (but on the opposite side of the fence), a lot of us who are into this fetish are so aware of its propensity for doing long term harm that we largely relegate it to the fantastic, without ever expecting our partners to overeat or gain weight. Kastemel's work here is clearly a fantasy, and thus the presence of any sort of deeper meaning kind of saps it of momentum. While Chris may provide a good storytelling foil for Brianna's more... 'devoted' fetishism, he becomes increasingly burdensome to said fantasy with time. I'd surmise that the majority of the people who are following the comic are doing so for the interactions between Sarah and Brianna -- not Sarah and Chris. Chris has emerged as Captain Bringdown, so while he's involved in a lot of sexual scenes with Sarah, his reluctance robs them of their potency. Even if we concede to Chris' value as a plot point, that value is eliminated once Sarah is liberated from his reluctance. She's clearly outgrown him (literally and figuratively). This is a work of fiction that includes the narration a fantasy, while telling a full story from beginning to end. That makes it SO much more enjoyable to me. The storytelling elements present in your work enhance the sensuality--they don't detract from it in the slightest in my humble opinion. I realize that Sarah is having a tough time and the story has progressed in an interesting way. I and a huge fan and I'm looking forward to the rest of the comic, I hope she finds happiness. But I have to say the panels where Sarah is on the ground and grabbing her belly are just so well done, simply fantastic! Thank you kastemel.
