I'm pretty new here and see this term pretty often on the home page.

What does it mean? What is the benefit?

The models introduce clips at a lower price for a time before raising it to its full price some time later, such as  a day or a week later. 

For example:

* Intro price: $3.50

* Full price: $7.00

This takes advantage of FOMO and drives early sales. They typically use it instead of a ROGO deal (which works in the same way).
