MadDog
Since Gfycat is no longer a viable resource due to security issues, and the fact they changed their policies regarding “questionable” content, has Curvage considered other alternatives for posting direct GIF links that embed into a post so you can actually see the GIF rather than just having a link?? That’s so anti-climatic. Lol It would be great if a new script was introduced (on the backend) to allow this from other related GIF-making sites. Has there been any discussion or thought regarding this and what do you suggest us do at this time to achieve what we were able to do before with embedding a Gfycat link?? Thanks. HI, We are not opposed to it. Let's start with this. Do you (or anyone else) have some good suggestions for gif sites for us to consider? Do you (or anyone else) have some good suggestions for gif sites for us to consider? Thank you Well there’s the new Gfycat alternative (that they themselves were promoting) called RedGifs.com. Also, GIPHY.com, imgur.com, ezgif.com, etc. Of course resolution quality would be a high proponent (which Gfycat did well with embedded links) so that’s an important deciding factor. Appreciate the consideration. I know many within the Curvage community would greatly support a new alternative! Avataг
S77
To be fair, we already support GIPHY. At least a Text editor tool version of it. We will look into the others. Thank you
MadDog
Ahhhh... didn’t know you already supported GIPHY. So does that mean that a link could be embedded and it would show the gif in a visual format? (Similar to how Gfycat worked on this site?) Also, I guess whichever site is used would need to serve a dual purpose, as not only a gif-maker but as well as a ‘hosting’ site, correct? Not sure if all of them have that capability/capacity like Gfycat did.
S77
It's working. And yes, we would also need the hosting part. I am not sure if that is included with Giphy or not. Thank you
MadDog
Good to know! Thanks again. Will try posting a few with GIPHY and give it a try! 👌 I would venture to say that maybe a lot of community members don’t know this(?)
