For Fantasy-

Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss (If you enjoy getting addicted to a fantastic story/world and then joining a large fanbase aggressively waiting for the next book to be released; last book in the trilogy was set to be released in 2014...)

The Farseer Triology by Robin Hobb (Pretty amazing, the trilogy after this with the Liveships is my favourite. Solid 10/10. All books released as well which is a bonus.)

For non-fiction-

The Deficit Myth by Stephanie Kelton (Essentially "they can fund the public healthcare they just choose not to and here are the economics to prove it")
