extra_m13
there is a sweet spot. in which if the lady is seriously under or over weight things get a bit more complicated mainly because of the relationship that it holds to the menstrual cycle , that is all i know folks
bluetech
I know anecdotes are not data, but my wife has a BMI of around 40 and we have zero fertility issues. There are some risks with carrying if the mother is obese, but generally those risks are associated with other specific health issues such as PCOS, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, etc. If the mother doesn't have any of those issues, then there isn't really much of a link with obesity and miscarriage. Except obesity is associated with higher rates of ALL of those things, plus and increased risk for the need for C-section and other complications. Those things aren't just entirely separate. And if you are obese but don't have those issues, your pregnancy risk goes down significantly.

And no shit, if you don't develop those complications then obviously you're gonna be at less risk than those that do, but with or without them, an obese pregnancy is at higher risk for a complicated delivery.
