A Return to “Gainsville” - A Lana Story

Not many know that Lana “The Ravishing Russian” was actually born in the city of Gainesville, Florida. She was however, raised in Latvia until returning to the US in her late teens where she then aspired to become something big. 

Eventually, she achieved stardom as the “social ambassador” of the mighty Rusev and was propelled to the status of a diva of the WWE.

Lana accomplished much, but all the while kept memories of her hometown in the US. She had been away for so long and decided a visit with old friends was long overdue. Upon arriving in Gainesville she wondered how much things had changed while she was away.

She was pleasantly surprised to find that Daylight Donuts was still around. Regarded as the best donut shop in the city she made it a point to stop in and order something for breakfast. To her surprise she was instantly recognized and even given a discount which she put to good use. Furthermore, after ordering a colorful candy covered treat and a coffee, the owners presented her with a large cream filled donut nearly the size of her head! She thank them but decided to save it for later...

Meeting up with old friends lifted her spirits and she spent the evening dining at one of the nicest restaurants in town. Drinks and conversing helped make the night fly by and she lost count of all the plates she sampled. 

Returning to her hotel that night she spotted the left over donut from earlier and although full from diner decided it would be a waste if it went stale overnight. She could just swing by and grab another in the morning if she really wanted another.

...Which of course, she did. For the duration of her stay she made it a point to stop in each morning to try something new.

Followed by afternoons partying...

And lounging by the pool... 

Or by the sea 

And each evening was celebrated with more than a few drinks. 

Soon enough, Lana noticed some changes that were less than subtle. There was a noticeable jiggle to her step...

And one piece suits were quickly becoming next to impossible to wear comfortably. Perhaps two pieces were the way to go. And she promised herself to try to cut down on the snacking for the rest of her trip.

That commitment didn’t last long however, as she was recognized everywhere she went and the locals were more than happy to provide preferential treatment to their hometown heroine.

She had to admit, she could get used to this... Maybe she SHOULD just enjoy her time back home. When was she going to be back again anyway? She decided to relax and do what made her happy.

And she did. She indulged in the sights, sounds, and especially tastes that Gainesville had to offer.  (Much to the dismay of her rapidly shrinking wardrobe)

The remaining days were spent drinking on the beach...

And evenings were spent ordering from the hotel’s long list of recommendations. These nights she stayed in and were mostly uneventful...

...mostly.

As her time spent in Gainesville neared it’s end, Lana looked back and decided she got more than her fill of life back home. Latvia May have been where she was raised, but this place was full of excitement and never before had she been treated so well as she had by the locals here who considered her the biggest star to come out of the city.

Her vacation ended, Lana made her way back and attempted to settle back into her regular routine. The experience had done a number on her - according to the scale anyway.

It was next to impossible to get back into her former daily yoga routine and she found she wasn’t nearly as flexible as she was always famed to be. 

Lana was amazed once the gravity of her situation finally set in. In just a few weeks she had piled on an incredible amount of weight. It would take a lot of hard work to get back into her limber form again.

She has attempted to focus on regaining her figure ...someday. In the meantime managing Rusev is enough to keep her schedule full.
