Cannot Open Some Threads

Been a member and content contributor for some time now.

This week I noticed that posts from one member (unnamed for now) will not open. Not Authorized apparently.

Begs the question... can members exclude other members from reading their posts or is this done by admin/mods?

There's the ignore function:

Ignoring a user allows you to block some or all of their content from showing. Users are not notified that you are ignoring them.

No, members can't exclude other members from reading their posts. The board staff has no interest in hindering especially you from viewing some threads.

Maybe you want to PM me the member's name and links to said threads so we can further investigate the problem?

Damn, @S77, even with your screenshot, it took me ages to find where that setting is. It's under "topics", no wonder I didn't get this was where one can block others from watching one's content. How about renaming the feature from "topics" to "blocked users"?

@maltesefalcon: I'm sorry I gave you the wrong information and hope that your question has been answered by S77's interference

It only blocks folks from viewing your "topics"
There are other settings for different types of blocks.

Plus it's not really something we want everyone using. It's there if we need to direct someone to it.

Thank you :)

Yes, I believe I know the member you speak of and he locked me out of his threads, too. Not a big deal since he's created a lot of division here and if I never see anything from him again, I"m OK with that.

After some thought I am wondering if the Admin/Mods would consider disabling this "feature".

Lets say member A starts a thread. Then member B (me) posts some additional  content to that thread, not just comments.

Then member A blocks me. Now I can't see his thread, which also traps content which I posted myself. So I can't view my own post, or any followup comments.

Does that seem fair? There is already an ignore setting if you don't wish to see anything by a specific member. There are also protocols to ban harrassment and abuse.

is that not enough?

This thread is quite old. Please consider reviving this one only if you have new (value add) content to contribute!
