Just when I had lost hope in seeing any type of fat suits in hollywood movies, I stumble upon this. In the new Weird Al movie the actress who plays his mother wears one near the end of the film mostly just to reference his song "Fat". To my knowledge this is a joke merely for the film and she wasn't the actual basis of the song, nonetheless it's nice to one or two bones thrown out every once in a while.

They always do this, and I’m not really sure why. I always chalk it up to Hollywood’s lack of familiarity with actual fat people.

Definitely not wrong there. As fun as the idea of characters getting fat in live action can be, a lot of fat suits out there are pretty bad. I feel the actress still having skinny hands is another common mistake too.

Which is weird because melissa mcarthy, rebel wilson (was fat for awhile), adele (before her weight loss), jack black, jonah hill and many more in the business exist ,yet, hollywood barely  bother to actually use references to actual overweight people regarding fatsuits.

Or just use fat actors and actresses for roles when possible.

There's a lot of discussion over what just looks like a reference to Weird Al's fatsuit for the music video in the 80s. While I could go through 170+ pages of this thread to find good examples for fatsuits, the Weird Al "Fat" fatsuit probably isn't going to show up as a good male example.

So I've learned my lesson long ago, I won't post a full copy of a movie. It is cool this movie is mainstream enough to have english dub track. But I think it's okay if I post some random screenshots. Really this is the hottest scene imo. A lot of the movie is just unrelated to this.

There is a show call La que se avecina it’s is only available on Amazon prime in Mexico. On season 13 episode 1 one of the main female characters is wearing a full body fat suit and it looks like it’s going to be a season long thing for her.

The movie "PIGGY" was originally an ALTER short horror film. It was pretty fucked up, but kudos to the filmmakers for actually using a fat girl (and I say "girl" because I'm honestly not sure how old the lead shown in the pictures above was at the time of filming) in a movie like this, and NOT opting for a cheap-ass fat-suit or shitty CGI.

Because it's the easiest part of the face to modify. Since they cannot always frame the whole body, the weight gain must be revealed from the face.

In episode 1 of season 3 of Better Things, Pamela has an extended scene of trying to squeeze into old clothes that no longer fit. There is a little clip of it at 0.20  of the season trailer. Sorry if this has already been posted.
