An Athlete no more

Hey all,

Seeing how my last thread seems to have done well, I thought I'd start another in the same vain. This time I want to see stories (or images since this is the general arts broad) of Jocks becoming, well, ex-jocks. Also, this time it doesn't have to be strictly females. You can post dudes too if you want (and if the mods allow). Personally dudes aren't my cup of tea, but you do you, boo.

So, with out Further ado, lets get started:

The Slowest Champion by riptoryx:

Rounder and Rounder We Go by snr6424 (special shout out to @jojoabc123 for point this one out thus spurring this idea) :

The Robert F. Kennedy High series by The-Id (pretty sure all the girls in this series were on the water polo team):

and, obviously, My Athletic Friend by WeightWatcher/the Observer:

Cheers.

Thanks for the shout-out, @FrankToo!

I'll probably have to come back to this later (I've been neglecting the Arts section of Curvage recently; I have a lot of posts to catch up on), but here are a few other athlete-related stories that leap to mind:

  • "The Wicked Stepfather: Revisited" (Part 1 and Part 2), by @Maverick [Maverick's iconic, darkest tale--beware! The protagonist begins as an excellent high school soccer player and cheerleader.]
  • "The Lesson," by @Maverick [Maverick's classic first foray into weight gain fiction. The protagonist begins as a fit, arrogant cheerleader.]
  • "Not on the Team," by Big Dave Hilll (sic) [An old story from the Dimensions archive. The protagonist begins as a thick but talented high school basketball player.]
  • "Abby Pulls Through," by Swordfish [Probably my favorite Swordfish story. The protagonist is a recently involuntarily-retired high-caliber gymnast now wrapping up her senior year of high school and heading off to college.]
  • "She's Got Some Potential," by livingroomcouch (aka @lrlr1) [There's only an introduction so far, but some friendly encouragement for the author might go a long way towards spurring prompt continuation. The protagonist is a high school tennis player struggling with losing her edge over the off-season and summer break.]

And since you solicited "images" as well as stories, I guess I'll throw in a reference for:

Thanks for the contribution @riptoryx. It'd be a crime to just ignore the contributions of a skilled writer.

As always, If any one has any suggestions don't be afraid and post them. I'd like this and the other thread I made to be a place where people of this community can share their findings and hopefully give some attention to some talented artists.
