It seems a recurrent amongt managers within the Hollywood entertainment industry to pressurize their female clients to shed their weight.

Mariah Carey, who once admitted enjoying being fat and getting heavier as she was no longer restraining her appetite, has suddenly begun to embrace that whole diet culture trend and self-depreciate herself from interview to interview whemever her weight-loss regimen failed.

Christina Aguilera, back to their heaviest, has even shown to carry some feederist proclitivities as well: she adored being plump, porking out whatever she want, whenever she want and getting ever heavier, until her manager reportedly threatened to screw her whole career and fame into oblivion if she continue to follow such path.

Honestly I can’t totally agree........While “Hollywood” and the entertainment industry in general which I also include the music industry as well does have a certain level of appearance rules it is obvious that those rules have been somewhat slackened over the years.  Rail thin celebrities like say Taylor Swift are basically on their way out.  Look at the rise of Lizzo and even Chrissy Metz.  That said no matter how the trends goes there will always be a level of fatness that women will eventually say enough is enough be it for looks or health reasons.  Look at Monique.  Was always talking about “skinny bitches” and loving being fat and yet after a few health issues changed her tune really fast.  Bottom line Hollywood does still dictate but women are given far more latitude when it comes to weight as it pertains to their appearance.

From being what? Not looking like a starved waif? Jane Fonda at her prime looks heavyset in comparison to pre-workout Taylor and we're speaking about the Jane Fonda.

Lizzo is not the first obese black female artist in modern history. Either way, popular opinion and prejudices expects black female bodies to hover into the heavier side, the only exceptions being given toward racially-ambiguous, lighter-skinned, blending-in divas with a proficiency to own a fandom who forget every once and a while about their Blackness (ex. : Rihanna or Beyonce) .

Whom to Chrissy... well, prior her there had Roseanne and prior even Roseanne, there had the Jane-Fonda era aging Elizabeth Taylor (because people lobed to starve) and prior Lizzie, well... beauty aesthetics tended to seesaw in favor to the thinner or heavier side depending even an era where being thin was mediatically favoured.
