A history of curvage?

A pioneer writer named "Melanie Bell" was the first to make me realize that there really were women who wanted to get fatter.  I think she wrote for Dimensions back in the mid 90s.

Yeah, I remember her.  'Melanie's stories', or something like that? I used to love those. I actually downloaded them all and printed them out on my dot matrix printer. Took hours!

There were three stories, if I remember rightly. Gaining my freedom, Tipping the scales and the original Melanie's stories. Probably still have them on a disk somewhere :)

I lurked many sites long since gone, dating back to the early 2000s. Sites like stuffed online, pumpkin belly patch, dimensions magazine, and others I'm struggling to recall at the moment. I was not into the furries aspect, but stuffed online awakened my desire for female overeating and weight gain. God only knows how I stumbled onto that site, given how crude web searching was back then. I was admittedly young for that kind of stuff, but the world wide web was still the wild wild west.

I was around for the original Yahoo groups, and joined FatCelebs sometime late 2005 / early 2006. My handle used to be gtasaf, before I got into the whole brevity thing, lol. I lurked for a month or so, then finally got over my anxiety of posting and contributed some content. If I recall, my first post was about an MTV True Life episode about dieting. That was right before YouTube took off and the forum added a dedicated board to videos. I remember thinking how great the site was - active users, lots of content; no more scouring Yahoo groups for a picture or two.

I've been a moderator for a long time, from back when Luke was running the site. Chapman, Serendipity, and Atlya were the more active mods. I remember getting invited to the mod team by Serendipity, and how honored I felt to be considered worthy of moderator duties. If I recall, that was in 2007, and the site had about 30k members at the time.

I remember buying the BBW Brooke DVDs, mail order, for way too much money for a poor college student. She was my first real BBW crush, I found her very attractive - honestly still do, that's my favorite body type and size.

I also remember the good times with instant messengers. I used to chat with Choco chan on MSN Messenger a bunch in the late 2000s. Curvage had a chat at that point as well. I'd hang on there while working my summer desk job at college, lol.

I'm not trying to brown nose here, but I still can't believe at times how much S77 has done for this place. His passion and dedication to the community here is bar none, and it has thrived with him running the place. The community vibe has grown larger than ever, and I feel Curvage is leaving some stigmas behind as a result.

I've admittedly been far less active the past few years - getting married will do that to you I guess, lol. I try to stay active on here, beyond moderator duties. Posts like these usually get me to open up and ramble 😄

I joined NAAFA  and saw it go from an organization of fat women and the men who love them to a "size tolerance" outfit of angry women who hated feeders and anyone who promoted weight gain.

In the end many were getting weight loss surgery and there weren't enough folks to book a hotel.  RIP

On a positive note, I had been to and hosted a number of room parties  (clean fun folks) with many members who had met in Dimensions chat.

It's a trip to meet chatsters.  😁

Wow!  I will try to recollect and while we are discussing I think the Dimensions channel was actually "Feeders and Feedees" and it's where everybody hung out.

More to come.

@gta

thanks for sharing. Those are some cool memories

What ever happen to Luke?
and wasn’t there another person who took over just after fat celebs who did pretty well but didn’t have time or something?

Luke shut down the site suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving up a single page saying the site was closed, contact him if you wanted to take it over. A week or so later, it was taken over by Phalloidium/Spock. He ran the place for a few years, and shut it down suddenly as well. I don't want to dive into too much of the reasons why for either of them, but I was glad to see the site continue on each time.

Sorry, I cluttered the thread with multiple entries. I was tired.

So to answer your question, all the room parties I have ever been to were G rated meet and greets, folks meeting in person, with lot’s of treats and some alcohol – but to a person, no one was ever really a big drinker, so the socializing was fun and positive, a really nice group of people.

Nearly  everyone had met in a chat. So it was like a chatster meetup.

I did start to remember names and was surprised at who I remembered and who not. I made a list, but after sleeping on it, I decided to leave it. Some we’ve never heard of and some who are around today. Some quite well known.

But we all had one thing in common: this fellowship in the fat world.

I came into NAAFA in it’s dying days:  young, naïve, and scared of my preference. It was a little group of beautiful, kind BBW’s that helped me and mentored me. It was the nicest BBW (RIP) who helped me be bold enough to host a room party. Her kindness is never to be forgotten.

Other occasions followed at local bashes and private chat reunions and  all that started to fade with the popularity of the Vegas mega bashes.

I got absorbed in RL, as should be, and lost touch.

For me, as in any other area of life, it has always been about the women; is now, and always shall be. They bring out the best in everything.

Man, this thread just made me super nostalgic.

I've been around these parts since at least 2007. I was still very much in my exploratory phase back then. Used to browse the soft core porn / NSFW sections of aggregator sites like ebaumsworld, big-boys (later break), had recognized that I "tolerated" chubby girls much more than my peers but was very much in denial about it because, you know, 'thin was in.' Anyways, one day, one of those sites posted some video of someone photoshopping a scantily-clad fat girl into a thin girl. I was simultaneously disturbed but also aroused, and I kept coming back to it. Tried it out myself on photoshop myself, making girls thin, but with big butts, big boobs, or whatever, but then toyed with reversing the process and making someone super fat. Welp, quickly discovered my new fetish that day, but still remained in a little bit of denial about it, so I started snooping around deviantart for the breast-expansion stuff, and if they happened to get fat in the process, I didn't mind it. Well this process continues for a couple weeks before I stumble upon Taylor Stevens (pre-weight loss), and boom, okay, I'm definitely down for fat girls at this point, but still didn't know there were sites that catered to people who liked them.

So, I don't recall exactly what it was that eventually led me to curvage, but I think I looked for something basic like "girl gets fat" or something like that, and I stumbled upon vennie's curvage.blogspot (god, remember blogspots??), and right there front and center was this girl "Danielle" going from seriously skinny to chubby, and holy shit was I in the jackpot. At that time, vennie was linking to a lot of myspace pages of girls who were gaining weight or stuffing themselves. I remember starting there and finding girls like Danielle (who still intermittently reappears on the scene), Plumping Penny, and Jessicuh. At some point started simultaneously browsing curvage.

The place was the wild west in comparison back then, but it still keeps so much of its charm (can't thank you enough SuperJ). Felt like almost all of the content was scraped from early youtube and myspace stuffers. I still remember being so excited when that silhouette of whatever model that was would boot up at the site entrance. I remember certain members just being untouchable legends (Vennie, Atlya, Wilan, Serendipity, and Chapman). These guys were so seminal, that women were usually categorized as "Atlya-esque" which was bigger, more apple-shaped girls if I recall, and Chapman-esque (slightly smaller in figure). There were some legends who had already come and gone, or just lurked by the time I came around (like Honeyhush). There were less prominent members who were still quite vocal and articulate who I always liked, like MasterofhisDomain, Loki, and Islanders. SO many feedees who came and went. Most of the really big ones seemed to host their content on their own blogs (before tumblr had really come into age) if they werent on myspace or youtube. I remember all the side drama of John Sanzone" (spelling?), the ever present troll who would blow up threads with his rantings and self-loathing. I remember trying to quit curvage for like one or two weeks to come back and find curvage 1 just gone, and being so upset. Ultimately it came back online, and then went down again a couple years later before Super J picked it up. Tons of good content lost unfortunately, even though tons of it aplenty now. It's funny, if you go back far enough on this forum (curvage 2.0), you can still get a sense of the devastation and people trying to put things back together from the earliest posted. I also remember J's side project, "lovethesecurves." I remember the creation of "fee-eee-a-bie" and what a game changer that was, although that has significantly changed too.

Crazy how much this place has been through. I wonder if those old mega-posters are still around, lurking, or if they really left the site for good. Seems a shame if they did.

There was a guy who kept writing poems.

And a mod who corrected people’s grammar (I found it really funny but many people hated it)

serendipity is still a member here but has been MIA for years, as far as I can tell.

There’s this one guy @vennie who was often the voice of reason (you’ve likely seen him around)

But for some reason, one guy REALLY took against him and started following him from one post to the next, insulting him, listing all the reasons why vennie is a jerk etc. Loads of members came to vennies defence because he’s a great guy and super friendly. Me being mischievous, jumped at the chance to create a “hate vennie” thread where we all jumped on him said what a jerk he was, for a few days. Of course it was a big joke, and I hope he saw it that way, and people were coming up with more and more creative “insults” like how likes him because of how nice and reasonable he is and so on. That was probably my most popular thread. If I recall correctly, I even reprised it a few more times.

I remember the site would go down sometimes and people would freak out because it was without notice. Loads of threads would be gone. And something about the site owner just disappearing sometimes. And didn’t one of them just disappear forever one time?

I'm still here.

I like the memory you wrote, haha. I forgot about that thread! The thread was in good fun, so I wasn't offended. I'm hard to offend in any case 😛
That guy though, what a dick lol. But alas, I can be an acquired taste. Mostly because of my dark humor, some people see me as an asshole.

The site owner you talk of was Mark or Phalloidium or something to that effect.

You know, I'm kind of surprised with a couple of these posts and how I'm mentioned in a positive manner. Thank you guys for that.

For fun, just a personal recap of my time in this little corner of the internet:

I started out creeping the yahoo group back in 2001 orso, and later became non-posting member (still creeping) of fatcelebs.org in 2003.
At some point, I posted some comments here and there, which made me anxious. You have to remember, this was at a time where I was still very much struggling with my preference for the more well-endowed women, and posting something almost felt like a guarantee of someone finding out I liked big girls.

But, once you made that first step, it gets easier and easier until you become one of fatcelebs/curvage top posters. Why? Because the forum had this little list where the 5 users with the most posts are shown + the ranking system. And, damnit, Atlya is not gonna get the better of me! He did make it difficult, that guy was a machine.

In any case, some years of posting alot around the fatcelebs forum followed, mainly to annoy Atlya. Also right up there in post count was Phalloidium, who eventually took over the site somewhere in 2007-ish?
This was also around the time I opened up the Curvage blog, because I felt I needed to give something back to the community after it helping me come to terms with my preference. I started posting pictures I found from everywhere for other people to enjoy. This would eventually morph into a blog where I reviewed BBW paysites in return for a free pass 😜

Because of this blog, which was meant to 'return the favor to the community', and the crazy amount of e-credits it landed me in the BBW community (and moderator status!), I started talking to Roxxie, Jae and eventually Plump Princess. So somewhere around this time (2008?) I entered into an (emberrassingly public) relationship with PP. My apologies, I was young and stupid and far too impressed to have landed this decidedly bottom-heavy bird. Mark, Phalloidium, had simultaniously entered into a relationship with Jae, hence her going to Toronto. This was also the time where we, at Curvage, would all spend our time in the webcam chatroom (off-site). That was alot of fun. Met alot of people that way. I remember, during this time, I was in The Hague and some guy (German, I believe) actually recognized me and came up to ask me if I was Vennie, lol. Obviously, I stabbed him in fear for my own life and ran away.

Anyway, in 2011 me and PP stopped dating and my obnoxious phase was over, lol. I think this was the time where Curvage opened up the famous chatroom. So alot of chatting followed, trashtalking certain models (:P). I feel like this was also the time where SJ77 started to appear. Who knew he would grow out to become such a pivotal person in the history of Curvage?
I kind of remember having alot of chatroom sessions with SJ, some pretty active girls (can't remember their names) and some other regulars. BC Britt, BC Caitidee, BC Becca, BBBXXL, Tiffany Lynn, etcetera among them.

Along the way we lost Atlya, for some obscure reason. I remember he went away after a fight or something?
We also lost Wilan, who is still rotting away in a Scandinavian prison.

Anyway, ever since 2011 orso, my work life picked up alot so focus shifted away from the community quite a bit. I've always been around though, checking up on Curvage and its people, since it's been such a huge part of my life for the last -almost- 20 years (HOLY SHIT).

I have also been in a relationship with a really cute 300lbs bottom-heavy BBW for the last 4 years, so I've been less active because of that too. I've been trying to get her to go on here. So she can read up on ways to get fatter all the good discussions that happen on this great forum!

Personally, I'm really glad SJ is taking such good care of this deserving site and community. He may not be an Original, he does deserves all the accolades!

Well as far as being a part of the FA/BBW community I've been around since 2000/2001 and I originally joined this place as ace99 back when it was called fatcelebs but it was merely a lurker profile that I used to look for content and I didn't start posting here porper until I was more or less told to get the fuck out of the Fat-Forums, the main mod Sassy pretty much had it out for me and a number of other people so after an incident where I was gonna hook up with this ssbbw milf  which didn't happen because Sassy told her I was a bad person or some shit, safe to say I wasn't a happy camper and after one more fight with Sassy where I found out she was spreading rumors about me I fucking left and I don't regret it.

Say what you will about the mods around here but they do a good job and unlike Sassy don't play favorites or abuse their power, just as an example if you to merely disagree with Sassy about anything she would threaten to ban you even if was in the wrong, which was most of the time btw, hell we weren't even allowed to post anything about feederism and that was models included! This woman would look down on models who made feederism porn(unless your name was Gaining Goddess) while at the time making scat porn, talk about a double standard, I don't know how I put up with that nonsense for so long.

I don't have too many stories about this place sadly but I did make a thread once about finding new music to listen to and someone suggested Porcupine Tree and they became my third favorite band next to Floyd and TOOL so I'll always been grateful for that. I've also enjoyed all the times I've poked fun at Vennie haha, I'm sure he hates my guts but in reality I've always had a lot of respect for the guy and this place wouldn't be the same without him that's for sure.

You misunderstood. *I* was the one being obnoxious, for dating such a well known model :P

We don't really know what happened to Wilan. Working theory is he's in a Vietnamese prison.

I remember stumbling across fatcelebs.com or whatever it was back in the day, but I think what got me into the scene was a geocities website about a model who gained 275 lbs or something like that. I think she was Hawaiian, and that was one of the all time great gains!

That wasn’t one I cane across but it sounds pretty cool. The one which really got me was  a site called called “fat girlfriend” or something like that. It was a guy posting up pics of his gf getting fatter and fatter. Updates were rare and you never got to see her face. When I was a bit older, I dod start to wonder if it wasn’t 100% legit. Like maybe the photos weren’t even of the same person. But I dunno and the site is gone now, anyway.
