When people look at Taytay, what do they see? Most likely, somebody that is beautiful and knows it! That wasn't always true. It took a ton of arguing with myself about what beauty is. As you may know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder... Easy to say, not so easy to genuinely believe.
I used to believe society's standard of "beauty is skinny". Seeing as I had a good 50lbs of baby weight growing up, I put myself through a ton of mental anguish. Half the time, I wanted that 50lbs to just go away!! The other half, I wanted to turn that 50 into 100.
One day, after eating boxes and boxes of snack cakes and regretting it yet again, a lightbulb turned on in my head. I think chubby girls are the cutest things ever, so why do i not feel that way about myself?
From that day forth, I started seeing myself from the point of view of an FA. A brilliant, shining light was permanently flipped on inside of me. I can still hear my mother telling me this as a child: "Beauty comes from within, once you find it, everybody sees it. Almost like a glow the radiates from you." Self confidence is one of the strongest powers a person can possess, in my opinion.
